ChinaGrabber - Worst Customer Service I Have Ever Experienced.

Jul 01, 2008 in The Interwebs and PCs

Almost 2 months ago, I was looking for a new neat cell phone to replace my PDA phone. I wanted something different and smaller than the PDA style that is now catching on with everyone.

I found exactly what I wanted (in theory at least) @ ChinaGrabber.com:

May 9, 2008:
Looks neat, huh? It’s a watch, and it’s a cell phone! It was advertised as a QUAD Band Cell Phone Watch - still advertised as so. Comes with bluetooth, headset, FM radio, all sorts of stuff. The u200i cell phone watch is even detachable and can be used as a flip phone, NEAT!

After an hour or two of searching for this cell phone, I decided to pull the trigger and order from ChinaGrabber.com, despite their lack luster reviews from Google. So in the end, it’s my fault for ordering from there. However, the customer experience to follow was completely unexpected.

May 21, 2008:
After I received the phone, I quickly read through the manual, put in my SIM card, charged her up, & powered her on… “No Service”…

Oh oh oh oh ohhh - New Kids on the Block!!!

Jun 27, 2008 in The Interwebs and PCs

Found this lil gem while watching Cold Play perform @ Toyota Concert Series online - those guys have also come a long way from “Yellow.” Nice flowing hair, new sound, Chris Martin jumping around stage like Mick Jagger, haha. Apparently, they’ve been holding free concerts as a way to thank their fans & give people a taste of their new album, SWEET!

New Kids on the Block performed together for the first time in 15 years (found @ bottom):

Toyota makes a great concert series, makes up for that whole crappy “I want my mpgggggs” song, hahaha (New Kids on the Block, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Cold Play, etc).

Vince McMahon Million Dollar Giveaway

Jun 16, 2008 in The Interwebs and PCs

Best Digg I have ever seen!!! Okay, maybe not the best, but this is hilarious. Vince McMahon was giving away a million dollars on live tv on WWE Raw - wait for it… wait for it…:

The McMahon’s just been roll’d, hahaha.

Ankur may not fit in an Exige trunk, but he’ll fit in a Dryer!

May 29, 2008 in Will Ankur Fit?

Since I don’t like posting about failures (unless there’s a lot of pics), I’ll post a success story follow up! This is what inspired the whole “Will Ankur Fit?” idea, hee hee. After seeing the exige pictures, Bernie looked through his old albums & found these lil gems.

Lotus Exige Trunks are not Mafia Friendly

May 27, 2008 in Will Ankur Fit?

One of our good buddies brought this little gem by on Memorial Day. Forget about the test drives, gawking at the engine bay & super dooper functional vents, or discussing the pro’s & con’s of being able to kick ass straight from the factory, we wanted to know if our little Indian cabana boy Ankur would fit in the trunk.

He’s fit in tiny spaces before, but alas, the Exige trunk is completely useless for transporting a 3rd passenger of mediocre size :P.

Sexy Orange Lotus Exige... but can Ankur fit in the trunk?
Who the Hell can fit in the trunk to actually pop out?!?
Mmmmm... vents

It’s a Hard Knock Life

May 21, 2008 in The Interwebs and PCs

Ankur got bored of finding robots for me, so he found this instead (actually, his friend Girth Brooks found it):

2603

Iono what’s more disturbing, that we (or at least I) find a picture like this funny - or that someone took the time to edit this picture and add in all sorts of comments… that coming from the guy who made a photoshop of loldowney, hahahaha.

Thanks Girth!

Iron Man wants a Cheeseburger - Ankur is on it!

May 20, 2008 in ROBOTS!, The Interwebs and PCs

Best robot this month… or EVERS! Iron Man! I’ve been meaning to compose this image since Ankur & I went to watch Iron Man opening night - “I want a cheeseburger” - OH NOES! Can Robert Downey Jr. haz cheeseburger?

The movie, despite not having enough action (I thought there was enough; crazy dramatic fight sequences involving thousands of CGI people are overdone, imho), Iron Man is the best super hero movie so far.

I really can’t believe I haven’t seen more of these photoshops - loldowney anyone?

Yes, Tony Stark, you can haz as many cheeseburgers as you desire. Quoc-Viet approved!

Robot of the Month - TOFU ROBOT @ Spicy Brown - Ankur to the Rescue, again.

May 01, 2008 in ROBOTS!, The Interwebs and PCs

SPICY!!!

SpicyBrown.com carries all sorts of random stuff, notably Tofu Robot apparel & toys. That’s probably how Ankur found it… who the hell searches for tofu robots?

Robot of the Month - ASIMO, the Honda robot - thanks Ankur!

Apr 23, 2008 in ROBOTS!, The Interwebs and PCs

Okay, Ankur FINALLLYYYYY sent me another robot to post, haha.

Introducing, ASIMO - the walking, running, jumping, orchestra conducting humanoid - no vTec, but I heard he gets great mpg’s.

Ankur's ASIMO picture - conducting orchestra, vtec style

My question is, “Are you, by chance, the pleasure model?” Quick, quick, where’s that quote from?

The complete article is available here: ASIMO Honda robot to conduct Detroit Orchestra

That concludes this month’s Robot of the Day/Week/Month/Year… ;)
